It may not be wrong to say that had there been no kids, perhaps many occasions and events would pass by silently. This is because of the kids that many events around the world are celebrated in a way they actually should. Hence, when it comes to Valentine’s Day celebrations Children are no way behind. Provided that Valentine’s Day has to do a lot with St. Valentine so it would be a good idea to engage kids in decoration of Church with some colorful crafts and pages indicating certain historic events. One such craft is a Denim Bible Cover that can be made quite easily without much effort.
Things you need:
One denim pant leg of average adult size
hot glue gun
18” tan jewelry cord
2 heart beads
Needle and thread
Make sure that have all the required items available at the spot so that you do not have to get up and look for them every now and then.
Place the Bible carefully on top of the denim pant leg on the table and line it up with the seams of the pant.
Trim the length of the pant leg so that there is enough denim to cover the bible and have about 3" extra on each side.
Leaving atleast 3" extra space on each side of the denim, trim the pant leg in such a way that it fully covers the bible from both sides.
In the same way as the copies are covered, cut an opening about 1” from the edge of the binding which will help in gripping the front cover of the book repeating the same procedure for both sides.
Now fold the openings that you have made just like wrapping a present using hot glue to adhere denim to denim and avoiding adhering to the book.
Once the denim is properly glued, remove the cover to put on the jewelry cord and the alphabet beads using needle and scissor by cutting into two pieces with one being 6” and the other 12” long.
Finally attach the beads and alphabets with hot glue at the front of the cover and wait till it fully dries up before replacing the Bible in cover.
