Pink Vodka Cocktail Recipe

Vodka was originally created in Russia, and the potent liquor has a forty percent alcohol content. While it sounds far from feminine, the distilled beverage is colourless and can easily be tailored to suit any occasion and preference – therefore, it is quite easy to jazz up vodka by creating pink vodka cocktails.

Pretty, elegant, and thoroughly girly, a pink vodka cocktail is a great drink for any occasion from a baby shower to a bachelorette party. Stylish and sweet, the cocktail requires just 5 minutes or less to prepare, and is made of 3 simple ingredients, that can be put together in no time to create an extraordinary beverage.

Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Serving Size: Serves 8 persons
Utensils: Large jug, stirring rod, strainer, martini glasses

Ingredients:
– 160ml triple sec liqueur
– 160ml fine-quality vodka
– 2 tablespoons good-quality grenadine
– 1 cup ice cubes

Instructions

  • 1

Start preparing the cocktail by putting your martini serving glasses (these should have a 60ml capacity each) in the refrigerator, to allow them to chill. Then, take a large jug, and fill it with 160ml of triple sec liqueur, along with a cup of ice cubes.

Next, add 160ml of good quality vodka to the triple sec liqueur and stir them together, to mix them properly. You can select the type of vodka you use according to your personal preferences, or the tastes your guests.  Kubanskaya (with an original and basic vodka flavour), Limonnaya (lemon-flavoured), Okhotnichya (flavoured with a mix of ginger, cloves, lemon peel, coffee, anise and other herbs and spices), Pertsovka (pepper-flavoured), and Starka (a Polish rye vodka) are popular types of vodka, all of which are easily available in the market.

Then, take the eight chilled martini glasses out of the refrigerator, and strain the beverage into each of them, dividing the drink between them equally. Once this is done, use a tablespoon to carefully add a little bit of grenadine syrup to the centre of each glass – this will sink to the bottom of the glass, and settle down to form a deep pink layer.

Finally, garnish the glasses in any way you prefer – stick halved strawberries, or wedges of pink grapefruit to the rims, or wind flowers like hibiscus around the base of the stems of each serving glass. Once the drink has been garnished, serve immediately.
