Remsen Cooler Cocktail Recipe

Remsen Cooler is a classical cocktail and very easy to prepare. The recipe of this amazing drink was taken from a recipe purloined from David Embury’s classic book, The Fine Art of Mixing Drinks. This drink got its name as it was originally made up of the now defunct Remsen Scotch whisky. According to Embury, Remsen Cooler Cocktail is the original cooler, which is one among those coolers that survived over the year. According to some bartenders, Remsen Cooler is best with Gin, but some claim that it is better to make it with Scotch. This recipe makes only one drink but you can easily increase the quantity of its ingredients according to the number of your guests or family members. Remsen Cooler Cocktail is made from Gin, Carbonated water or Club Soda,and powdered sugar. Do not forget to try this drink in your upcoming party or get-together.

Ingredients;

(2 oz) Gin

1 twist of peel Lemon

(1/2 tablespoon) powdered sugar

Carbonated Water or Club Soda

2 to 3 ice cubes

1 spiral Oranges

    Grab a cocktail mixing glass and pour a bit of carbonated water or Club Soda in it. Add in 1/2 tablespoon powdered sugar and stir gently for few seconds until the sugar dissolves.

    Now, gradually pour in the 2 oz of gin and place 2 to 3 ice cubes in it.

    Pick up a fresh orange and peel the rind of it in one long spiral form and place in long tumbler or a Collins glass. Strain the gin mixture into your Collins glass or a long tumbler.a

    Top your glass with the remaining carbonated water or Club Soda, garnish with a twist of fresh lemon peel and serve immediately.
