Samsung Galaxy S3 Release Date

Canadians will have to wait a little bit longer to get their hands on the in-demand Samsung Galaxy SIII smartphone. The South Korean electronics manufacturer announced that it would be moving the release date of the high-end smartphone to June 27. This is a full week after the previously announced launch date. Samsung has stated that the delay is because of “unprecedented demand” of its new Galaxy SIIi from across the globe.

The South Korean company recently reached several milestones when it started accepting pre-orders for its new Android powered device. The major accomplishment was when it started being leaked that the company had managed to sell nine million units of the Galaxy SIII as pre orders. The extraordinary worldwide demand made Galaxy SIII the most bought device on the planet. It also made Samsung the king of smartphones as it became the largest seller in the world. The South Korean company also overtook Nokia by becoming the biggest seller of mobile devices in general.

When it became clear that the Glaxay SIII would be outselling iPhone 4, the company went into overdrive to try and manufacturer enough phones to meet its orders. At the time Samsung had not acknowledged any off the record pre-order numbers but did assure buyers that they would have the devices out in time. The company staggered its release dates across the world and started with Europe and Middle East. The release went without a hitch in these localities. However it seems Samsung just did not have enough devices when it was time for Canada’s launch party.

A week may not be too long a wait, but the highly expectant Canadians are anxiously waiting to become part of the massive group of Galaxy SIII owners. Any further delays may also indicate that the launch dates in the US will also be delayed. This is a major issue because the US is a major market and is many times larger than Canada. Samsung has assured its consumers that any more delays will be only temporary and quickly resolved.
