Letter to Leave Church

If you plan on leaving your church, you must make sure that you leave on good terms. In most cases, you will be required to submit a letter to the church, formally announcing your departure. This is important because most congregations do not have written regulations that govern membership. Moreover, the letter should be courteous and state clearly that you want to disassociate from the church. This is necessary for the leadership of the congregation to issue you a letter of transfer or a certificate of standing.

Let us now show you how to write a letter to leave church, and if you want, you can also use the samples and template we have provided below to draft your own letter.

I have had a lot of positive experiences over the 5 years I have spent as a part of your flock. It has been great taking part in humanitarian and Christian activities. However, I have been sourly disappointed with the direction this church and its leaders are taking for the last few months. I do not think that I can be part of a church when I don't agree with its teachings.
