Template of a Letter to Leave Church

If you plan of leaving your church, you must make sure that you leave on good terms. This is necessary if you wish to get all the proper documentation to present to your new church. In most cases, you will be required to submit a letter to the church formally announcing your departure. A letter to leave church is needed because most congregations do not have written regulations that govern members leaving. The letter should be courteous and state clearly that you want to disassociate from the church. This is necessary for the leadership of the congregation to issue you a letter of transfer or a certificate of standing.

I would appreciate it if you could recommend any churches in my new location that are similar to your church. I would appreciate your help in that matter and a letter from you confirming my attendance at your church would be appreciated.
