– You can use a plastic cocktail shaker but do not forget that it will take you a hundred washings to get rid of the anise smell of the absinthe and you cannot use it for other purposes. Therefore, it is better to use a metal cocktail shaker.
– You can replace the cracked or crushed ice with regular ice. However, you have to shake the cocktail for a decent amount of time in case of regular ice.
– You can use a Canadian whiskey in place of a rye whiskey.
– If you use a homemade absinthe, then never forget to use half the amount. Otherwise, you can use the easily available Spanish Absenta brand.
