Difference between Asus Fonepad and Google Nexus 7

Asus Fonepad and Google Nexus 7 are tablets which are extensively by different users around the world. Although, there are quite a few similarities between the two tablets, but there are still considerable differences as well.

Asus Fonepad is expected to be launched in April 2013 while Nexus 7 was launch on June 27, 2012. The size of Asus Fonepad is 196.4 x 120.1 x 10.4 mm whereas the size of Google Nexus is 198.5 x 120 x 10.5 mm (7.81 x 4.72 x 0.41 in). Furthermore, Asus Fonepad has a 7″ LED Backlight WXGA IPS Panel touch screen display. In contrast, Nexus 7 has an LED-backlit IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, 16M colours.

    Asus Fonepad has no protection while Nexus has a protection of Corning Glass. Moreover, Asus Fonepad runs 3G Network on WCDMA: 850/900/1900/2100 and HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100. Contrarily, Nexus 7 runs 3G Network only on WCDMA 850/900/2100.

    The CPU speed of Asus Fonepad is 1.2 GHz Single-core Intel Atom while Nexus 7 has a speed of Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A9.

    Additionally, Asus Fonepad’s GPU is powered by PowerVR SGX540 whereas Nexus GPU is powered by ULP GeForce. The operating system of Asus Fonepad is called Android OS v4.1 (Jelly Bean) while the operating system of Nexus 7 is known as Android OS, v4.1 (Jelly Bean), upgradable to v4.2.1 (Jelly Bean).

    Asus Fonepad has a chipset of Intel Atom Z2420 with an internal memory of 8 to 16 GB while Nexus 7 has a chipset of Nvidia Tegra 3 with an internal memory of 16 to 32 GB. Fonepad has sensors including GPS & Glonass, G-Sensor, E-compass, Proximity and Ambient Light Sensor while Nexus has sensors which include G-Sensor, Light Sensor, Gyroscope, E-compass, GPS, NFC and Hall Sensor.

    Fonepad’s additional features include SNS integration, 5GB Life Time ASUS Webstorage Space, Asus Launcher, MyLibrary, File Manager, Kindle, Zinio, SuperNote Lite, App Backup, App Locker, Organizer Document viewer, Photo viewer/editor, Voice memo/dial and Predictive text input (Swype).

    Additional features of Nexus include Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean), Accelerometer, GPS, Gyroscope, Microphone, Magnetometer, Google Wallet, SNS integration, Organizer, Image/video editor, Document viewer, Google Search, Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Calendar, Google Talk, Picasa, Voice memo and Predictive text input (Swype).
