Hot fudge sauce is one of the most delicious dips which you can use as cake or ice cream topping. It is not very difficult to make and all you need is a little time and few basic ingredients.
Ingredients
Heavy cream - ⅔ cup
Lyle's Golden Syrup, or light corn syrup - ½ cup
Dark brown sugar - ⅓ cup
Dutch-processed cocoa powder - ¼ cup
Sea salt - ¼ tsp
Bittersweet chocolate, chopped, divided in half - 6 ounces
Unsalted butter - 2 tsp
Vanilla extract - 1 tsp
Instructions
First of all, you have to take a 2-quart saucepan and put it on a medium-heat stove.
Take a bowl and add cream, brown sugar and syrup into it.
Mix all the ingredients well with each other with the help of a fork.
Now, add cocoa powder, salt and around half of the chocolate to the bowl; put the mixture into the saucepan and reduce heat to medium-low.
You may have to reduce heat to low in order to maintain a low simmer.
Keep stirring the mixture while it is on the stove and cook it for around five minutes.
Put on your gloves and remove the saucepan off the stove.
After removing the saucepan, place it aside, add the remaining chocolate in it and mix well.
Then, you have to add the butter and the vanilla extract.
Keep mixing the ingredients until they become smooth.
Now, let the mixture cool down for around twenty minutes to half an hour.
Take a jar or any airtight container and clean it well.
When the mixture becomes a little bit thicker, pour it into the jar or the container.
Place the jar or the container in the refrigerator.
You can preserve it for around two weeks in the refrigerator.
In order to use it, just take it out of the refrigerator and reheat it in the microwave for around thirty seconds to one minute until it become a little thinner to be poured down.
