Guava and cheese turnovers make a perfect diet for the lunch. Moreover, you can also eat it during breakfast or supper. It is a delicious mix of cheese, milk, vanilla extract and guava. It is not very difficult to make.
  • 1 (1-pound) package frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, cut into 8 equal pieces
  • 8 (1 by 1-inch) squares guava paste (about 4 ounces)
  • 1 egg, beaten with 1 teaspoon water
  • ¼ cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1 teaspoon milk
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
  1. First of all, you have to preheat your oven to around 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. In order to prevent your dough from sticking, you will have to sprinkle on the surface where you will do your work.
  3. Then, you have to level the puff pastry to an 8 by 8-inch square sheet. Now, make 4 equal pieces of the sheet with the help of a sharp knife or pizza cutter.
  4. To make the turnovers, you have to place the pastry square in your front. Keep one corner pointing towards you and put one piece of cream cheese over the centre diagonally.
  5. Pour the guava paste as topping. Take a bowl and beat the egg in it. Then, brush the corners of the sheet with the beaten egg. Make triangle of the square piece by folding the upper half. Don’t forget to crimp the corners with the fork. Repeat the same procedure to make the triangles of all the remaining pieces.
  6. Place the pieces in the oven and bake them for around 20 minutes (until they become puffy and golden). Meanwhile, stir the confectioners’ sugar with the vanilla and sugar and set it aside.
  7. Take the turnover and keep it aside for around ten to fifteen minutes to cool down. Then, mizzle and cover them. You can serve them along with some juice.
