How To Make Facial Cleansers for Combination Skin

Combination skin has both dry and oily skin types. Such type of skin is tricky to care for because the T-area of the face (comprising forehead, nose and chin) is generally oilier and suffers from the problems of an oily skin, like blackheads and blemishes, while the other areas, mainly cheeks and the areas around the mouth and eyes, are usually dry and tight. Cleansers for combination skins need ingredients that balance both types. In commercial facial cleansers, these ingredients vary depending on the original condition of the skin. Making your own facial cleanser allows you to customize an effective formula according to your skin type.

Honey is the most effective household item for combination skin. It contains potassium and a natural antibacterial agent, both of which prevent and heal the breakouts on the dry areas of your face – cheeks and the areas around your mouth and eyes. It is also a natural moisturizer. To treat the oily areas of your skin, use a cleanser made from lemon juice and sugar. Freshly squeezed lemon juice contains skin clearing Vitamin C and is also a natural antibacterial agent, while sugar contains glycolic acid which removes blackheads and promotes smooth skin.
