How to Make an Old Fashion Gelatine Macaroni and Cheese Salad Mold

Macaroni has always been the hot favourite dish of people since years now. Macaroni is not only an ideal dish for children but also for elders as well. It is tasty and yummy plus very fulfilling. But over the years many alterations have been made by different people belonging to different regions. If you belong to the 70’s era, you surely miss the gelatine macaroni that your grandma used to cook for you. Will the recipe is very simple and does not take much time to be made. You can make this delicious recipe for your children and family. They will love it for sure.

Yield: 3-4 servings

Ingredients:
Parmesan Cheese: ½ cup
Cheddar Cheese: ½ cup
Elbow Macaroni: 1 Pack
Cream:  1 cup
Stock: 1 cup
Gelatine : 1 Tablespoon
Water: 5 cups ( 4 cups for boiling macaroni and 1 cup for dissolving gelatine)
Pepper: As per taste
Salt: As per taste
Grounded Chilies: 1 teaspoon
Butter: 1 Tablespoon
Garlic paste: ½ teaspoon
Ginger paste: ½ teaspoon
Olive Oil: 1 Tablespoon.
Lemon Juice: 1 teaspoon.

Instructions

    Firstly take one cup of hot water and add gelatine to it. Mix it continuously so that the gelatine incorporates fully into the water. Put it aside. Boil the macaroni and drain out the water from it. In a sauce pan add olive oil and then add the garlic and ginger paste. After which add the butter to the saucepan. Then add the boiled macaroni to the saucepan and stir for 30 seconds. Now add the gelatine dissolved water to the saucepan, further stir for 30 seconds. Now add the stock and stir for 30 seconds. The stock could be of beef or chicken depending on your choice.

    After which add the cream, cheddar and parmesan cheese to the sauce pan and stir for 30 seconds. Now add lemon juice, salt, pepper and grounded chillies to the saucepan. Now stir again. The macaroni will have a saucy texture.

    Now turn off the stove and place the macaroni into a 3-4 ramekins. Refrigerate the ramekins for 3-4 hours. And now take the serving plate and unmold the macaroni from the ramekins. Garnish the macaroni with some oregano and you can serve it with some green salad leaves or lettuce. You can also use potatoes and some other vegetables, stir fry them and serve with the macaroni.
