Take a large mixing bucket or sand pail and place two cups of cement in it. Add in some sand and then pour one cup of water into the bucket. Blend all the ingredients until it forms a thick paste.
Note: Make sure to wear gloves as the cement mixture can crack your skin.
Select a smooth surface for this project and place a piece of contractor’s paper on it. Remove the wrinkles on it, suing both of your hands.
Note: If you do not have a piece of contractor’s paper in hand, then simple place a cloth to serve as a work surface.
Gently spread a thick layer of the previously prepared cement past over the surface of the leaves, using a putty knife. Smooth the surface of the paste thoroughly and make sure to stay within the outer edges of the leaves.
Set out the leaves for few until the past on it hardens well. Now, turn the molds around and remove the leaves.
Note: The perfect time to turn the mold around is when paste is about to dry but do not dry completely.
In the meantime, make arrangements to install the amazing leaf-shaped stepping stones and select the area where you want to install them.
Use the putty knife to dig out holes on the surface of the selected area, keeping the shape of the leaves in mind. Make sure to keep suitable distance between the holes for the installation of the leaf-shaped stepping stones.
Note: Dig holes with medium depth; otherwise, your leaf-shaped stepping stones will not be visible.
