To configure VPN, you require special equipment including the VPN Server. A normal computer that has been running under licensed and appropriate software may act as a server because this VPN server will give access to other computers on a virtual network.
VPN setting may be different in different virtual networks, but on the whole process of creating a VPN and connection can be started after creating a new connection. In various versions of Windows, there are different ways of creating it. In Windows 7, this can be done through Control Panel. Go to “Control Center Network and Sharing Center” and then set up a “new network connection”.
Specify what type of connection by entering the name under which the compound will be present in the system. As a location, select the "public place", if you want to work securely under VPN network. The system will ask for changing some of the important parameters. These answers should be answered "yes" and "Allow".
Now enter into the VPN network after connecting to the Internet: click the shortcut icon, enter a name and password. Be careful when entering a username and password. They are case-sensitive, that is, replacement of lower-case characters in capital lead to refusal of authorization, and the entrance to the VPN network will not be possible.
To configure VPN to create an encrypted communication channel, open the properties of the compound and select the tab "Security" and check the box "Require data encryption". So you tell the system when the server tries to create a VPN unencrypted channel data exchange, VPN connection will just not happen.
