A Guide to Luxury Car Dealerships in Raleigh-Durham

So you want to buy a luxury car. Ok, that’s one decision down. Now there’s only what make, model, lease or buy, and options. There are a good amount of luxury car dealerships in the Raleigh-Durham area. This guide will tell you where to go, and where to avoid.

The Leith Company is a large owner of luxury car dealerships in the area. Two of them are located on Capital Blvd. One of those is Leith BMW. This dealership is also a dealer of Rolls-Royce vehicles. Arriving on the lot, you will be greeted by a salesperson who will instruct you where all of the models are located on the lot. They then let you roam the lot on your own. The salesmen are more than willing to offer you a test drive. This isn’t apparent at some of the dealerships. You are also not asked your personal information right up front either. Everyone is very laid back and seems to clearly like the product they are selling. Juan, who has been at this dealership the longest, is highly reccomended. He had no problem printing out a lease estimation on a specific vehicle. This is one of the best luxury dealerships in the area, hands down. Contact number: 919.876.5432.

Leith Mercedes-Benz of Raleigh is located next to Leith BMW. They are connected via the parking lot, which is an advantage because you don’t have to go back out onto busy Capital Blvd. The lot is small and cramped. The salespeople are not impressive either. The amount of time and attention you recieve from the salesman depends on how much money you are spending. I found a certain salesman, who shall remain nameless, emitted arrogance and assumption when I told him how much I was willing to spend. Save your time and head on over to the Leith Mercedes-Benz in Cary. Cary is right off of US1 and the Leith Auto Park is off of US 64. The Mercedes-Benz in Cary is off the busy roads and boasts a much larger and more spread out sales lot. The salespeople are friendly and interested in what your needs are. They then take your needs and your price range and find a car to fit you. Test drives are more than welcome and free coffee is always being brewed. Contact: Mike Newman 919.876.5444.

Right across the street in Leith Auto Park is Audi. The salespeople are more than friendly. They seem more like friends than salespeople. Patrick and Jason particularly, will show you why and Audi is the coolest car on the road. The attitude and energy is great and the test drives are fun. Most of the people who work there are on Audi race teams, so they are generally enthusiastic about their product. They offer complementary drinks and food. Their lot is smaller than most but their customer service is the best around. Contact: 919.460.3800

Back on Capital Blvd is Johnson Lexus. This is the largest lot. The service center is luxurious and spacious. Full service food and drink is available. The sales people are helpful, but very formal. They give a good presentation of their product, however, are not straight foward on a price unless you agree to buy! These were the words out of the salesman’s mouth!! Nice product, but most Lexus customers in the dealership are older, 50 plus. This may be the reason for the formality of the salesmen and the rest of the staff. Not a comfortable setting, feels more like sitting in a lawyers office. Contact: Jeff Bass 919.625.0791.

These are just a few luxury dealerships in the area. While the encounters were my own personal ones and the opinions I formulated were as well, try all of the dealerships. DIfferent people respond differently to certain sales tactics. Visit all of these dealerships and see which ones works for you!!
