A Visit to Mount Holyoke

My fascination with Mount Holyoke is relatively newfound. What most allured me in the direction of Amherst, Massachusetts was the five-college consortium. I have done much research, including reading the New College Plan, and have become absolutely intrigued by the idea. I found it so alluring that I had to see this consortium for myself. I recently made the trek from Florida to Amherst and I absolutely fell in love with the area. My original intent was to check out Hampshire College after reading about it’s prolific intent of a self-designed program. However, I felt it would be wise to investigate the other four colleges within the consortium as well. I completely immersed myself in campus life for a period of two days. I rode the busses, attended classes, and talked to several people, which made what I saw on paper come to life. I will never recover from the overwhelming feeling I experienced when I got off of the bus to Mount Holyoke. I instantly fell in love with the campus, environment, and atmosphere of Mount Holyoke. I spent one full day taking pictures, exploring the area, and fortuitously meeting some of the nicest girls who took me under their wing and granted me the opportunity to wholly delve into the school. The school exemplifies what I feel would be the utmost college experience.
