Credit Monitoring Companies that Can Help Keep You in Touch with Your Credit Rating

If you are thinking about buying a house, if you are trying to improve your credit rating, or if you are just interested in monitoring your credit then you may want to consider enrolling in one of the many credit monitoring programs that are available. Credit monitoring programs usually offer you a monthly report about your FICO score, and a summary of what is on your credit report(s). To select the credit monitoring program that will fit your needs the best you will need to review several to get an idea of what prices and options are available.

Credit Monitoring Company Number One – My FICO

MyFICO is the first credit monitoring company that I tried out. It offers a free 30 day trial of its Score Watch program. This program is offered at a rate of about $8.95 per month. This product tracks your FICO score and emails you when a significant change has occurred. I really didn’t like this product personally, as it did not offer real time FICO score changes. However, for people who only need a monthly update of their FICO score this product is adequate.

In addition to Score Watch MyFICO also offers several other credit monitoring products. They offer Fico Deluxe which includes your FICO scores from all three credit reporting agencies, and it allows you to access all three of your credit reports from the three different credit bureaus. This product is sold at $47.85. The third credit monitoring product that they sell is the Suze Orman’s FICO Kit which includes three FICO scores, three credit reports, advice on what you can do to improve your credit rating and FICO score, as well as advice on how to buy a home or secure more credit. This product retails for $49.95.

Credit Monitoring Company Number Two – Identity Guard

Identity Guard is more for people who are looking to protect their identity from identity theft through the active monitoring of their credit reports. This company offers several products including fraud protection for $12.99 per month, credit protection for $12.99 per month, Credit Protect, 3-in-1 Credit Report with three scores for $39.95, Credit Report with score for $9.95, and Card Registry for $29.95 per year. Credit Monitoring Company Number Three – Experian

Experian is the credit monitoring company that I currently use. I love their real time FICO score access that this program provides, as well as the credit monitoring tools that this site provides. Experian offers a free 30 day trial of their Experian Credit Manager which gives you access to credit reports, credit scores, credit score tracking, estimate tools that allow you to see how certain credit changes will impact your FICO score, as well as email alerts when significant changes occur in your credit reports or in your FICO scores. This product sells for $9.95 per month after your trial period. If you are interested in this product, or other Experian credit monitoring products you can find information on their website located at http://www.experian.com.
