Downy Wrinkle Releaser: Product Review

Downy Wrinkle Releaser is a fast and easy way to remove wrinkles from garments (jeans, shirts), proving to be [often] better than breaking out the ironing board. Aside from that, it adds a signature smells of ‘light freshness’ and ‘vibrant freshness,’ which may or may not delight the users’ palates.

Downy Wrinkle Releaser is perfect for businessmen on the go, or for people like me-college burnouts who often sleep in their clothes. Instead of having to wait for an iron to heat up, only to rush through flipping/creasing efforts thereafter, one only needs to spray the Wrinkle Releaser on the garment. After a quick run-over with one’s hand, the wrinkles disappear!

Downy Wrinkle Releaser utilizes its own unique formula to not only prevent wrinkling (and remove wrinkles, of course) but to soften garments as well. It’s great for those who store clothes in drawers and duffle bags. In fact, it’s practically essential for travelers; those hotel room ironing boards aren’t all they’re cracked up to be.

So why walk around wearing clothes that make you look like you’re living out of a bag or, worse yet, out of a soiled college dorm?

Still, Downy Wrinkle Releaser has its setbacks. One setback is its awkward packaging: a beige, hand-contoured spray bottle that is way too sheik; no product should show that the majority of its price goes towards packaging/marketing. Also, its awkward shape makes for hasty packing. If this product is so ideal for travelers, why should it prove to be so difficult to pack in a bag?

Aside from that, the top is impossible to twist off. Although the nozzle closes, so as not to spill, the head of the bottle can’t be removed for refilling [and, essentially, diluting] with water, or for repair. And believe me, these bottles malfunction quite easily.

Despite all the minor downfalls, Downy Wrinkle Releaser is a great tool that anyone who wears clothes should have with them. Think of it: you’ve just driven across the state and now you have to go out-what will you do about the wrinkles/smell that your car has imposed on you? What if you had a far way to drive to a job interview? Suits wrinkle easily, you knowâÂ?¦

Downy Wrinkle Releaser is considerably cheap, with a 30+ ounce bottle available from downy.com for $19.99 (plus s&h). It’s a great gift for those going away to college in the fall, for those with perpetually wrinkled clothes, or for anyone who travels. That is, if they can stand the artificial ‘freshness.’
