Elementary Education in the Suburbs of Oregon

James Templeton elementary school is in the suburbs of Portland Oregon, located at 9500 SW Murdock Street, Tigard, Oregon 97224. Templeton is known as a very community structured school. A couple of examples would be that the school is very active in fundraising and recruiting parent volunteers to promote family importance and support. Another belief of the school employees and parents alike is the importance of an education while striving to earn essential funds the school needs for supplies and maintaining the educational structure the community expects and demands. Despite the lack of school funds, Templeton takes every opportunity it has to express their accomplishments in obtaining their curricular goals.

The enrollment for the 2005-2006 school year is 565 students in grades K-5. The school boasts a new library and classrooms constructed in 2005. Principal Pat Thomason is a firm believer in reading for everyone! A huge focus on education at this school is reading as a family, and reading everyday for fun, not just for homework. Overall, the Tigard-Tualatin school district is highly regarded in all around education.
