Halloween is more than a day in Salem. Massachusetts, it is a month long holiday celebration, with events and acetifies for adults, for children and for families. Salem has long been famous because of the infamous withc trials of 1692 and they ave kept the tradition and history alive by preserving many of the houses and other building of that time. Many of them are included in the guided tours. And for the children there are parades, costume parties and contests. There is an event going on every day of the month Salem, Massachusetts is easily accessible from Boston ( less than 20 miles). With all the beautiful hotels and bed and breakfasts in the area, it mkes for a wonderful family vacation. Theses events are held every year, so if you cannot make it in 2006, book make thi pae and return to make your plans for next year, but if you can come, you will have a grand time and hopefully make Salem one of your regular vacation spots.

During the month of October, The Griffen Theatre will present EERIE LEGENDS OF SALEM, a recreation of the actual Salem Witch Trials of 1692.. The play is based on actual testimony from the real trials, so you get the feel an atmosphere just as it was. They are opn fomr 10AM to 8PM during the week and longer on weekend.

Haunted Happenings Opening Parade, Salem, Massachusetts

On Oct 5th at 6Pm come to downtown Salem and be part of the largest evening Halloween parade in Massachusetts. This is the official kick off for the month’s long Halloween celebration. The Parade steps off in Shetland Park 35 Congress Street and ends at the Salem Common.

The Witch House was originally owned by the judge who presided over the witch trials in 1692. ON theses evenings, the house will present Haunted Tales all evening long. There will also be strolling musicians and jugglers. You may see as many different Halloween shows as you like, they are about 20 minutes long, and in between relax at the caf�© and enjoy some smacks.

Saturday October 14th is Salem Halloween Children’s Day. Bring the children to Salem Common for a full day of family fun. There will be free entertainment, balloons and crafts and at noon there is a parade and costume contest. There will also be pony rides and inflatable rides available.

On Sunday October 22nd, The YMCA is sponsoring the certified Witch City 5K run, so come with your running shoes and maybe break an official record. Race in Halloween costume and you could be a prize winner, even if you are not the fastest Contact the Y to get all the information
