Hotel Guide: Brooklyn, New York

So you have found yourself in Brooklyn, New York? This city has made itself famous through film and television as being the place of many cop dramas, etc. But, little do people know that Brooklyn is actually New York’s most populous borough, having nearly 2.5 million residents. This city is known for having such a wide array of residents, giving it the nickname, “The Planet.” This is due to the fact that so many different nationalities and eclectic personalities call Brooklyn home, giving it a unique “planet” feeling. Well, this uniqueness spans far beyond just its inhabitants. There are some amazing hotels within this borough, and I have researched and reviewed the top three of these hotels for your consideration. So sit back and find your perfect hotel within this “planet.”

The first hotel in which I reviewed is the Marriott NYC Brooklyn Bridge. This three-and-a-half-star-hotel rests directly in Brooklyn’s law, government, and corporate centers. This Marriott hotel is literally surrounded my courthouses, government offices, and corporate headquarters, it is to no surprise that this hotel caters mainly to a business clientele. When guests enter this lobby, they are escorted by an escalator past green-marble trim and outdoor plants, to a second-level lobby. Some of the various amenities this hotel offers its guests includes a 8,000-square-foot health club, with a seventy-five-foot, four-lane, indoor lap pool and a six person spa tub. This hotel also offers complimentary aerobics classes, which are conducted in the pool twice a week. The health spa also has cardio machines, weight machines, as well as free weights. This hotel consists of 376 guestrooms in a seven-story glass tower. All of the guestrooms feature Marriott’s Revive Collection bedding, as well as the Wired-for-Business service, which provides Internet access as well as local and long distance calls for a daily surcharge. Also, this entire hotel is completely smoke-free.

The second hotel in which I reviewed is the Best Western Gregory Hotel. This two-star hotel is located only one mile from the Verazzano Bridge and is only eight miles from the Brooklyn Bridge, as well as only being five miles from Prospect Park and ten miles from midtown Manhattan. Some of the various amenities this hotel offers its guests includes a twenty-four-hour business center, which is equipped with high-speed Internet access and laptop ports. There is also wireless Internet access available in the Madrid Lounge, the main lobby, the lower lobby, meeting spaces, and breakfast areas. There is also a complimentary Continental breakfast available every morning. This hotel has 70 guestrooms, all of which include coffeemakers, video-game consoles, and free local calls. There is also complimentary wired and wireless high-speed Internet access available.

And the last hotel in which I reviewed is the Day’s Inn Brooklyn. If you are looking for a hotel with an absolutely perfect location, than this is your hotel. This Day’s Inn is located only four miles from downtown Brooklyn and Prospect Park, and is only six miles from New York City, as well being situated very near I-278. Some of the amenities this hotel offers its guests includes free parking, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, complimentary breakfast and wireless Internet access. This hotel has 43 guestrooms in its five-story building. All of the guestrooms includes complimentary dial-up Internet access, free local calls, cable television with free HBO, coffeemakers, and phones with voicemail. This hotel is absolutely perfect for those travelers who are wanting to stay somewhere comfortable without all of the bells-and-whistles.
