Kellogg’s Cereal City

Cereal city is located in Battle Creek, Michigan. This is the one attraction that makes the city known. This is great fun for children and adults of all ages. The employees are very kind hearted. They are willing to help you with all your needs and questions that you may have while visiting. Don’t forget to take your camera, you will want to take pictures of all the neat things. Admission is adults $7.95, Children (3-12) $4.95 and children under 2 Free.

First thing I would start with would be the Cereal Production tour. You get to see what it takes to make Kellogg’s cereal step by step. All the machines have clear windows so you can view whats happing inside the machine. This was very educational. At the end of the tour there were samples of warm cereal that you just watched being made. Try some, warm fresh cereal is very tasty.

After your tour you can walk around and see different things from when they first started making cereal. There are old machines out for everyone to view layed out in a time line form. Even an old kitchen to show you how things use to be 50 years ago and more. Some activities for the little ones to do like playing on computers, Building things out of Lego’s and more. Sit back and watch some old movies/cartoons on the old black and white televisions. Along your way you will view huge boxes of cereal. take your picture with one. The big cereal boxes look just like normal size ones, just blown up. Big toasters and other enormous utensils are also out for your viewing. Tony the Tiger and others are made out of Lego’s. This was really cool to see what can really be build out of Lego’s. There are signs on them to let you know exactly how many Lego’s it took to make them and how many man hours were put into it .There is a place where you can get your children’s picture taken and while you visit they will place it on a cereal box for you to take home. There wallpaper has pictures of every cereal that Kellogg’s ever made. It was neat viewing and stepping back into time with “oh I remember that”.

For a separate (high) price you can sit back and view some movies in the theater. This was a little pricey for me. I thought everything should be included in the package price. The movies were pretty informative. The theater however has no doors. So it was hard to block out all the background noise from the kids running around outside. They offer a few different movies. But all will cost you more money.

Getting a little hungry? Well stop off at the Red onion grill. They offer many different food items here. And by different, I really mean different. I recommend trying the froot loop sundae. Does not sound very good, but I’m sure it will be a kid pleaser. They offer all kind of different things to eat. Don’t worry they offer normal things to. Prices were not to bad either.

On your way out don’t forget to stop by the gift shop and get some souvenirs to take home with you. the layout of this gift shop was spectacular. Most gift shops in other places are very cramped. This one was very spacious. They offered a large variety of items. Gift packages, Clothes, Candles, Writing items, Coloring books, Stuffed animals and much more. As with most gift shops around, They are pretty pricey. We spent a hundred dollars in a matter of minutes and didn’t even realize it.
