Haunted Boat Burning
at the Long Island Maritime Museum
http://www.limaritime.org/

Friday, October 27, 2006 at 7:00 pm

For a strange Halloween tradition, people will gather on the Museum’s front lawn to witness the biggest bonfire on the South Shore! The boat burning is loosely based on the Viking tradition of a nautical burial, an old, neglected wooden boat was chosen to become the “burn boat” for the year. There will be Halloween costumes, hot apple cider , a big bonfire and pumpkins and sea shanties.
