North Myrtle Beach: Summer Vacation Spot for Families From All States

Every summer North Myrtle Beach in South Carolina is the place to be because of the many activities that it offers families large and small. From late May to late September families from all states travel to North Myrtle Beach for a weekly visit for summer fun and escapades. There is a lot that is offered for all members of the family plus you have the friendliness and southern hospitality of the real old south.

The first thing is to contact a realty company from North Myrtle Beach such as Grand Strand Realty or Elliot Beach Realty to rent a house. The beach front houses usually rent out from a Saturday to a Saturday and the cost is usually on the average from fifteen hundred dollars to twenty-five hundred dollars for the week. The houses down from the beach front properties are usually rented from a Sunday to a Sunday or from a Saturday to a Saturday and they are located either a street or several streets down from the beach. The beach is easily accessible via public walkways. What a lot of families usually do is split the costs of a house in sharing the house with other members of the family and the houses are usually large enough to accommodate whole families.

So you have rented a house for a week and you are ready for a real vacation. The realty company has sent you some packets usually with coupons in several booklets on places to see and go. You will notice there is a lot to do and usually the realty companies send these booklets to advertise the businesses and also to help you plan your vacation in an organized way if possible. If you just want to relax at the beach that is fine too. You have the beach and several piers you can walk on for a small fee of a buck or two. For you shoppers there are shops galore and there are two main areas. There is Broadway on the Beach. You can reach this area by driving down the highway 17 to the Airport and you will see the signs. There are a combination of restaurants such as Planet Hollywood and Liberty Steakhouse. There are Crab Huts and Japanese restaurants and other eateries. On top of this there are at least a hundred shops selling books to the latest clothing fashions. There are rides as well and rock climbing and there is one of the best aquariums around. You can even get henna tattoos if you are so inclined. The other area is Barefoot Landing and here you have restaurants and lots of stores. They also have the House of Blues which is a restaurant where you have some great musicians play as well. In these locations there is plenty to do for the whole family. Along the way from and to these areas you have many other stores to stop. There is WINGS where you can get anything to do with the beach, from beach towels to the latest swimsuit attire. Another stop is the Spanish Galleon where they have live music and beach dancing. There is a place right by Beaullineus where they have constant beach music and shagging to beach music.

For you golfers there are a huge selection of greens to play on. Some of the best names in golf, Arnold Palmer, Greg Norman, and Jack Nicklaus, have designed their own courses here in North Myrtle and Myrtle Beach. Even these greens are easily played at since the realty companies give you coupons to breakdown the cost. I personally played on one course for fifty dollars and it usually costs around two hundred dollars to play a round of eighteen holes but I played for fifty.

There are also theme parks and water parks for all to enjoy especially the kids. There is WAVES where you have water slides and water pipes and wave makers with lots of life guards around. The theme parks include put put, bumper cars, and lots of other rides for all ages. Down at Myrtle Beach there is the Pavilion which has one of the best Ferris Wheels around and other rides. Also for the kids you can rent beach equipment such as tricycles to ride on the beach and bikes and boogie boards and even surfboards.

There are those places where the locals hang out and one of these places is TarBabys where you can find one of the best buffets around. The buffet includes the freshest and best seafood around to the best of southern cooking. Most nights you have all-you-can-eat crab legs with melted hot butter or any type of shrimp you desire. There is the Pie Hut where the best pies are baked and you can get any type of pie as well.

Overall North Myrtle Beach and the surrounding areas are the best vacation spots around. You have plenty to do for all the family and you are at the coast having fun. You have the best of southern hospitality and you will want to come back again and again. I have been going to North Myrtle Beach now for close to twenty-five years every summer and I never get bored. You have the crashing of the waves and good company of family and friends, what more could you ask for.
