Pooch Patio Latest in Dog Care, Dog Grooming

April Prohaska has taken the variety of a pet store, the convenience of dog grooming, and ambience of a cozy living room and merged them together to create a dog’s delight.

The Pooch Patio at 3811 Fairmount Street in Dallas, TX is an eclectic mix of luxury, pampering, and style offering everything under the sun for canines plus a social outlet for their owners.

The gathering place has an indoor/outdoor patio with huge outdoor deck and TV’s and cozy lounge area with fireplace that is pet friendly and owner obedient. There is wireless Internet throughout the place. Photos from Bryant Dog Portraiture are available for sale and on display.

Managers are always on duty.

A Doggie Day Care is also an integral part of The Pooch Patio offered M-F 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays. It’s an easy drop-off, just grabbing your coffee and going. A 2,000-square-foot indoor/outdoor playroom is part of the facility supervised by trained staff. Discounts are available for ten or 20-day blocks. The preferred age of dogs in day care is six months old or older and they must be spayed or neutered.

For masters there is a Java Haus and Espresso Bar where you can buy coffee by the pound. And there’s their very own “Big Dog Brew.”

Customers can venture into the Bark Boutique, part of the Patio, a retail shop selling specialty dog beds, all natural nutritional supplements, bones, treats, chew toys, leashes, and Pooch Patio apparel among other items. Shipping is available. Gourmet meals to go for mutts is available in different menu options such as Mutt Loaf with ground turkey, Mutt Meat Balls with whole wheat pasta and special sauce, Mutt Mac n’ Cheese, and Mutt Burgers with ground beef.

A self-serve grooming area is also available for a fraction of the cost of a groomer. All items are provided in a professional setting. All sizes, breeds, and coats are welcome and no appointments are necessary. There are large, functional, and private stalls and a full-service groomer is on-site on Saturdays. You wash the dog and staff cleans up afterwards. Self-serving area is first come, first serve. Walk-in stalls have massaging water sprayers for small, medium, toy, and large sizes. Vinyl smocks are provided to pet owners to keep them dry and protect them from excess hair. You can choose from up to ten different shampoos and conditioners depending on your dog’s skin coat and an ear cleanse is also included. There is guaranteed warm water and towels to dry off your pet. Pet colognes and breath spray are available for a small fee.

Customers are welcome to bring along any specialty items they might need to clean up their pooch including bathing products, professional grooming tools, additional towels, brushes; etc.

The Dog Haus play area has indoor/outdoor spaces with lots of toys, balls, ropes, chew toys for playing Tug-O-War, and small plastic tubes for cooling off on hot summer days. All pets must be collected by 7 p.m.

If you’re running late or can’t transport your pet, you can call Paws Pet Services at 469-855-PAWS and they will pick your pet up.

Walk-ins are welcome with proper proof of current vaccination record.

Patio hours of operation are M-Th, 7 a.m.-10 p.m., Fridays 7 a.m. to midnight, Saturdays 8 a.m.-12 a.m., and Sundays 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
