Raleigh’s Ice Cream Shops

Raleigh, NC is home to a variety of different ice cream shops that are perfect to visit when you have a craving for some great ice cream. Here are a few of Raleigh’s best ice cream shops. Visit one of these great places next time the hot weather has got you down!

Cream and Bean
130 E Hargett St
Raleigh, NC 27601

The Cream and Bean not only has Ice Cream they have coffee as well, which is a definite plus. The store makes their own ice cream by hand which sets them apart over their competition. The will mash in different toppings like M&Ms and Oreos for you as well like some of the larger chain ice cream shops, except theirs are much cheaper. Cream and bean also has fresh handmade waffle cones that are to die for. This is a wonderful Raleigh asset, and a great place to visit when you’re traveling with a group, some who may want ice cream the others coffee.

Cold Stone Creamery
7840 Alexander Promenade Pl
Raleigh, NC 27617

Cold Stone has become a staple around the United States I think for Ice cream. For a long time Raleigh did not have its own Cold Stone, now that it’s here however I think it’s more than likely here to stay. If you’ve never been to Cold Stone, they take your ice cream and put whatever toppings you would like physically in the ice cream, They do that by putting the ice cream on a stone and essentially mixing the toppings in. The ice cream here can tend to be a little bit on the expensive side, but it is well worth it for the quality office cream in the end.

Goodberry’s
11736 Retail Dr
Raleigh, NC 27601

It’s not ice cream, its frozen custard! As a lactose intolerant I often like to go to other ice cream shops, but pay for it later. Goodberry’s frozen custard is great because its not icecream it is actually custard. Goodberry’s has a pretty large selection of different types of custard to choose from all of which are absolutely fantastic. On hot summer nights you will see huge groups of people crowded outside of every Goodberry’s location enjoying a frozen treat. There is no indoor seating, so Goodberry’s really isn’t somewhere you want to visit when its cold outside or rainy, but it can be the perfect place on a hot spring or summer night.

Ben and Jerry’s
3801 Hillsborough St
Raleigh, NC 27607

You can’t talk about Ice Cream without talking about Ben and Jerry’s. This Ben and Jerry’s have all your favorites. It’s located out of the way on Hillsborough Street near the beltline making it a great easy place to stop by when you’re on your way home from work, or on your way to school and NC State or Meredith. Ben and Jerry’s is always a super tasty time!
