Summer is all about loading the family or friends up into a car and hitting the big events of the area and Washington is no exception to this. We have quite a few summer events to hit and here are some of the highlights to see if you happen to be in the area.

~ SeaFair (July 1st – August 6th): Every year Seattle hosts an annual SeaFair which features hydroplane races, air shows, milk carton races and much much more. People come from all over every year to watch the events before them and no one ever walks away disappointed.

~ River Of Fire (July 4th): In Washington you really have do not have to go far to find a 4th of July festival but to find the best one, you might have to take a little trip to Kennewick where they hold the annual River Of Fire festival which is a showcase of pyrotechnical mastery in celebration of the country’s independence.

~ Windriders Kite Festival (July 7th – 9th): Held every year in the beach towns of Westport and Greyland, kite lovers from all over the state gather to take advantage of the high winds and show off their best kites and skills. Great family friendly event.

~ Luau in Zillah (July 15th): If the summer fest isn’t your thing, than try the luau held at the Silver Lake Winery. Food and dancing from 12-4pm in the small town of Zillah, just outside Yakima.

~ San Juan Lavender Festival (July 15th – 16th): Up in Friday Harbor, all of the lavender plants will be in bloom and so it’s the perfect time to go up there and bask in their radiance. There will be plenty to do with live music and performances from the San Juan Shakespeare company, Stage Left, along with picnics.

~ Pacific Northwest Scottish Highland Games & Clan Gathering (July 29th – 30th): Celebrate your Scottish heritage (or someone else’s) with this gathering of the clans complete with bagpipes, caber tosses, traditional dancing and much more!

~ The Next 100 Years Of Motorcycle Rally (Aug 18th – 20th): Taking place in Rosalia, this event is going to feature over 20 world famous builders showing off their latest bikes, live music and displays of all kinds are set to be featured as announced.

~ Evergreen State Fair (Aug 24th – Sept 4th): One of our biggest annual fairs, the Evergreen State Fair always brings in something special and this year proves to be no different. Fun for children and adults alike, everyone finds something here!
