Three Places to Find Commercial HVAC Equipment and Services

In the deep of winter we all look forward to having a warm workplace at the end of the drive. In the heat of summer we want a workplace that is cool and comfortable.

If you happen to be an employer one of the lasts thinks you want to hear is; “Mr. Snook, I’m freezing âÂ?¦ Again!” or “Mrs. Applebottom I think even Mr. Rollo is having a ‘Hot Flash’ today!”

In North Carolina employees and employers have come to take cooling and heating for granted. As an employee we expect to leave our comfortable house, ride in our comfortable car, rush across the baking/freezing parking lot and enter into a comfortable working environment that is always the right temperature so we can be at our best. (or at least look our best)

The employers here expect to arrive every day to an environment that keeps their delightful and hardworking employees comfortable and creative. Hearing the AC or the heat is on the blink again means there will be at least one day with no piece and zero productivity.

One person I knew used to bring a personal heater to work to compensate for the lack of proper heat. The heater regularly over loaded the circuit breakers, causing the office computers to shut down. On one occasion the person flipped off their shoes to get comfy and nearly ended up with a burn on the feet severe enough to require medical treatment. One of those nasty workman’s comp issues employers really dislike.

If you should be experiencing heating or cooling problems here in the Raleigh area and would like to do something about it here are three suggestions.

Rural Plumbing & Heating is the granddad of the plumbing and heating business in North Raleigh. Founded in 1947, they moved to North Raleigh in 1948. This was a time when North Raleigh had more cows than people.

They are well located on Six Forks Road near the intersection with Wake Forest Road and Atlantic Avenue. This puts them within a quick ride to downtown and proximate to the intersection of Wake Forest Road and I440 (beltline).

Though they are a large company, they serve both the commercial needs and residential needs. This could come in handy if after that long day at the office you arrive home to find your significant other stewing about the temperature in the house. You can locate them at the following address and phone number:

Rural Plumbing & Heating
701 East Six Forks Road
Raleigh, NC 27609

G&M is a “Carrier Commercial Products” dealer. They advertise that they can install rooftop units from 5 to 100 Tons per unit. This is very important should your building need a new unit on the roof. A friend of mine who does the engineering design for roof top units might well ‘get’ the call. Many an older building was not designed to carry anything heavier than a man on the roof.

You wouldn’t want to have the desk right under a poorly mounted air conditioner. Although the unit’s “Tons” refers to the amount of air they push, the actual units are no small item, should they plunge into your lap.

They have been in the business since 1977. They can be contact at:

G&M Service Company
3317 Durham Dr. Raleigh
NC 27603

A final company to consider is the new kid on the block with only around dozen years under the belt is Greater Raleigh Refrigeration Inc. There main specialty is the cooling or should I say the very cold side of the business. Need an ice rink, your meat cooler on the blink or you need forty ice machines for your new hotel. These are the folks to see. You can find them at:

Greater Raleigh Refrigeration
1404 Smith Reno Rd
Raleigh, NC 27603
