Top Ten Songs by Boyz II Men

Boyz II Men is one of my all time favorite groups. This male R&B quartet consisted of Shawn, Michael, Nate, and Wanya. Boyz II Men’s first album was entitled “Cooleyhighharmony” and was released in 1991. From the instant I heard the smooth harmonies and rich lyrical content, I was a fan. I also enjoyed hearing each singer’s individual voice and style as each took turns singing lead. I followed the group through out their career and have many fond memories listening to their songs. I have compiled a list of the top ten Boyz II men songs. My top ten list features songs released throughout the group’s career.

“It’s So Hard To Say Goodbye to Yesterday”

This remake of GC Cameron’s “Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday” is responsible for defining Boyz II Men as an R&B force to be reckoned with. The smooth flawless harmonies make this song one of my favorites. This song has been sang by so many talent show hopefuls and shower singers alike.

“End of the Road”

Who hasn’t heard this song? “End of the Road” broke all kinds of records and barriers as well. This song captured all the emotion of a relationship that has come to an end. “End of the Road” further solidified Boyz II Men as a super group that would enjoy much success.

“Let it Snow”

You probably will not see this song on other Boyz II Men top ten song lists! I most definitely stand by my decision to include the single in my list. We’ve all heard artists make tired Christmas singles. “Let it Snow” was different in that it had great lyrics and vocals. The harmonies in this song are beautifully arranged and executed

“On Bended Knee”

A sincere apology can often heal a relationship rift. It’s even better when the person apologizing can readily admit that they are completely wrong. “On Bended Knee” is indeed a sincere majestically sang by the group. Every part is well crafted and well executed. “On Bended Knee” shows Boyz II Men at their best.

“Water Runs Dry”

This song is a sweet ballad that addresses a troubled relationship. Instead of giving up, the lyrics insist that something be done to save the union. “Water Runs Dry” features easy flowing vocals and a heartfelt message.

“Motownphilly”

The early 1990’s was indeed a different time! It was cool to be active and unique. “Motownphilly” showed off the creative and hip side of the quartet. This song became an instant hit and enjoyed much air play.

“Hey Lover”

“Hey Lover” was a collaboration with L L Cool J. Boyz II Men’s vocals brilliantly complemented the song’s verses. The harmonies paint a canvas of a man having a very sincere crush. “Hey Lover” shows that Boyz II Men is more than a group who sings power ballads.

“I’ll Make Love to You”

This song is epic from the first note to the first note to the last. The accompanying music is crisp and adds to the well crafted lyrics. “I’ll Make Love to You” expresses the intensity of pleasing your mate. Who wouldn’t like to take pleasure every once in a while?

“4 Seasons of Loneliness”

This song takes us through all four seasons of longing for a lost love. The idea is imaginative and the lyrics are fresh and descriptive. This song makes you feel every word that the group sings. It is sang as only Boyz II men can sing it; in perfect harmony and sync.

“Doin’ Just Fine”

Everyone has experienced a break up. You might experience pain but you must believe that you’ll be ok. “Doin’ Just Fine” affirms the fact that you will get over your pain. In this song, Boyz II Men expresses the emotional realization that all is not lost. What an affirmation!
