Understanding the Rules of the Georgia Lottery

1993 brought the first two instant lottery games to Georgia with the Georgia Millionaire and the Instant Cash. From the time of its induction there have been 40-45 instant win ticket games in the lottery system at any one time, with two new games that are started every other week. This is an overview of some of those games.

CASH 3
Cash 3 was one of the first online games that were introduced to Georgia with the first real drawing being held on August 10, 1993. Top prize of this lottery is $500 and there are seven different ways to win, 1000 possible number combinations, with the top prize odds being 1:1,000. To play you pick a three digit number from 000 to 999. There is a midday lottery drawings held every afternoon but Sundays at 12:29pm, and evening drawings held every night at 6:59pm.

CASH 4
Cash 4 had its first lottery drawing on April 6, 1997. Top prize of this lottery is $5,000 and there are thirteen different ways to win, 10,000 possible number combinations, with the top prize odds being 1:10,000. To play you pick a four digit number from 0000 to 9999. There is a midday lottery drawings held every afternoon but Sundays at 12:29pm, and evening drawings held every night: Sunday, Monday and Thursday at 11:00 p.m.
and Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at 11:34 p.m.

QUICK CASH KENO
Quick Cash Keno had its first lottery drawing on December 15, 1995. There are 37 different ways to win and the top prize is $100,000. Lottery drawings are held every four minutes from 6:05am to 11:45pm. The game is played like regular Keno.

FANTASY 5
Fantasy 5 had its first lottery drawing on November 18, 1994. There are three different ways to win and its top prize odds of winning are 1:575,000. To play fantasy 5, just select any five numbers from 1 to 39. Overall odds of winning any of the fantasy 5 prizes are 1:100. There are drawings every night: Sunday, Monday and Thursday at 11:00 p.m.
and Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at 11:34 p.m.

LOTTO SOUTH
Lotto South had its first lottery drawing on September 12, 2001. There are four different ways to win and the top prize odds of winning are 1:13.9 million. To play lotto south, select any six numbers from 1 to 49. The overall odds of winning any lotto south prize are 1:54. Drawings are held every Wednesday and Saturday at 11pm.

MEGA MILLIONS
Mega Millions had its first lottery drawing on May 17, 2002. There are nine different ways to win and the top prize odds of winning are 1:135 million. To play mega millions, select any five numbers from 1 to 52, and select a “mega ball’ number from 1 to 52. The overall odds of winning any mega millions prize are 1:43. Drawings are held live in Atlanta every Tuesday and Friday at 11:00 p.m. Mega Millions states include: Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.
