Stowe Vermont Oktoberfest will be held this year on September 22-23-24, 2006, And you thought all they did in Vermont was ski. No way. Vermont is a great place for recreation year round and they know how to throw a great Oktoberfest. This is their tenth anniversary, so look for some special events to come up.

This is a very family oriented Oktoberffest. The charges are extremely low: Admission
Friday – By donation. This is the kickoff and there is no admission charge, so donate what you think is right. Saturday & Sunday $7 for adults $5 for ages 9-20 children under 9 are free
(Look for $1-off coupon) All the proceeds go to help the Stowe, Vermont Rotary Club with their charitable work, so while you have fun, you will also be helping people in need. Can you think of anywhere else you can get family entertainment for this price? And there is plenty of fun for everyone. Please think twice if you are considering bringing a dog to the Oktoberfest. While you may want to have the animal with you it really is not fare to him. There will be crowds of unfamiliar people, and while you will be enjoying yourself, your dog will most likely be afraid and who knows what can happen then.

Saturday at 10 AM the Grand Parade gets everything off to a great start. Everyone loves a parade and this one will get you in the mood for the rest of the weekend for sure.

Be ready for two days of music and dancing. And plenty of authentic German and Bavarian food to keep up your energy. Let’s not forget the great beers from the Vermont Breweries.

There are plenty of special things for the children also. There will be games, pumpkin painting, face painting and puppet shows.

While you are in Vermont, don’t forget to take in the beautiful fall foliage. If you are coming for the weekend and need a place to stay, contact the Stowe Area Association at www.gostowe.com. They will be more than glad to help you in any way they can.
