First of all, you have to make a good estimate about the number of clients which you expect will visit you on routine basis. Even though, you will give appointments to your clients, but sometimes they will have to wait outside because you might have a meeting with your employees or you may be busy with some other client or clients.
Start creating a layout of your lobby. Keep the sitting area (waiting area) separate from the walk-through as the people who are waiting won’t like to get in the way of the people who are passing by.
It is extremely important for you to make the seats or chairs comfortable so that the people who have to wait can sit easily on them. Besides, it will be better not to put arms on the chairs as some people who have more weight may feel difficult to adjust on one seat because of its arms.
If the people who visit you daily carry some kind of accessories or documents, you should place some tables before the seats so that they can easily keep their belongings on the tables and can sit comfortably on the chairs. If you don’t have the space for the tables, you can make shelves.
The design of the reception area is very important. You should place the reception desk at a place where it can be prominent. Usually, it is better to make reception just after the entrance as it is easy for the people to inquire about anything and they don’t have to wander around to get the necessary information.
You must install the emergency command panel at a place where it can be accessed easily. Furthermore, you have to place the windows at the right place to get the proper ventilation in your lobby.
