Rinse and drain 12 fresh mint sprigs. Remove their thick stems and then roughly crush them.
Place some ice cubes or crushed ice in an old-fashioned cocktail glass and top with the crushed mint. Place this glass in your fridge until blend the remaining ingredients.
Take a beverage or cocktail shaker and place 4 tablespoons of sugar in it.
Top the sugar with 6 ounces of light rum and 6 tablespoons of fresh lime juice.
Place the beverage/cocktail shaker’s lid at the top to seal it and shake it well until you feel that the sugar is completely dissolved.
Take out the glass from fridge and pour the rum-sugar mixture into it. Stir to mix it with the mint.
Now divide the rum-mint mixture equally among five medium cocktail glasses of your choice.
Top each cocktail glass with a splash of cool club soda and garnish with fresh lime slices. You can place the lime slice on the sides of the cocktail glasses or simple float them.
