How to Write a Sales Visit Thank You Note

When you pay visit to your potential clients in an effort to sell the product/service, you expect them to respond positively, that is, they should take interest in whatever you offer to them. But no matter what response you get from your potential clients, you need to write them a thank you note after the visit, letting them know that you cared for them and wanted to do business with them.

Writing a sales visit thank you note is different from sales letter or an appreciation letter.

  • 1

    Start by thanking the client

Start the note by thanking the client/customer. Do not write the details of your service or products, just express your gratitude for their response, regardless of whether they showed their interest in your offer or not.

  • 2

    Keep it short

Sales visit thank-you notes are generally written in one paragraph, and sometimes even a few words will do. You should express the confidence that you hope to do business with them, and if the relationship with your clients is old enough, you can say that you will keep serving them in the future as well.

  • 3

    Appreciate their time

Do not forget to thank your clients for the time they took to attend you or your sales team. Telling them so, will reflect that you value them and want to keep working with them.

  • 4

    Be positive in tone

Be realistic and positive in your attitude and write as if you are having a face-to-face conversation with them. Do not let them think that you resent their attitude if they do not show interest in your services.

  • 5

    Say something about future

Write what you are going to do in the future for your client. If your client gave you a positive response, you can say that you look forward to the same response in the future as well. If you had a mixed response from your potential client, you can say that you hope to hearing from them soon and will do your best to serve them.
