How Twitter Works

Over the last couple of decades, social networking has become increasingly popular all around the world. Twitter, these days, is one of the leading social networking sites, which is being used by millions all over the globe, including celebrities.

Through Twitter, people can update others about their lives and happenings through posts containing 140 characters, which are called ‘tweets’. The users may also share links, pictures or interesting information. A Twitter user can choose to follow different personalities and use the account for news feeds. A user has complete control over his/her account and what information is supposed to appear on his home page.

In order to see tweets on the same topic, people use hashtags to make it more popular. There are no spaces or punctuation mark in a hashtag, which starts with ‘#’ mark. For example, a football match between two famous clubs like Chelsea and Liverpool will have a hashtag like #chelseavsliverpool.
