First of all, you have to choose the right location to build the trap. Roof is generally considered as the best location of building the bird trap. However, if you have any other place in mind where you think birds come more often, you can build the tap there.
After finalising the location of the bird trap, cut the sticks into two straight pieces of around half an inch. Then, cut another set of sticks into 11-inch pieces. Repeat the procedure mentioned in the previous step to make the sets of ten, nine and eight inches.
Now, take the set of the 12-inch sticks and tie it with the 14-inch string from one side. It is extremely important for you to tie the stick firmly with the string so that it may not get out with a little pull. You will have to repeat the same procedure with the other pieces of string and sticks.
Then, you have to flip the sticks in a way so that they appear as an ‘X’. After that, keep the sticks on the ground while they are stretched with the strings. Tie all the other pieces of the strings and sticks in the same way.
In order to develop the trigger mechanism, you will have to cut the sticks into 12-inch long pieces. Cut all the sticks in same manner to make the support of the trap.
Take a basket and attach all the pieces of sticks to it with the help of the string. Repeat the same procedure to tie the sticks on the other side of the basket.
Place the trap on the desired location and adjust the trigger mechanism carefully. Drop some food grains on the surroundings of the trap to attract the doves.
