Steps were taken later on and it was decided to expand the area of the park in order to dedicate a vast space for the general public. As a result, Mushrif Park was immensely lengthened and smartened up in 1989. Previous to the establishment, the total area of this park was house to hundreds of extensively spread trees. Some of the trees were about 15 meters high and more than 50 years old.
