A Look at the Raleigh Farmers Market

One of five farmers markets located in the state of North Carolina, the Raleigh Farmers Market is an outstanding place to find the freshest available locally grown produce.

The Raleigh Farmers Market is a completely modern facility owned by the State of North Carolina. It is a huge 75 acre property that houses, well maintained, indoor and covered outdoor, buildings and spaces, jam-packed with produce grown in North Carolina and its neighboring states. The Raleigh Farmers Market is not just about fresh, in-season produce either. It also has flowers, plants, shrubbery, sod, specialty shops, handmade baked goods and items, Christmas trees and crafts. For your convenience there is also a great seafood restaurant on the premises and a pork store.

The ambiance is always friendly, warm and inviting, with a very down-home feeling. Many of the stands offer free samples of their produce and baked goods for your enjoyment. The prices are always reasonable and the sales people are always more than helpful.

There are special days planned throughout each of the seasons at the Raleigh Farmers Market to highlight the season’s best produce such as Peach Day in July, when they offer free peach dessert samples and hold a peach dessert contest. Some other special days include Watermelon Day in August, Apple Day in September and a Fall Craft Fair in November.
