Amazing Hotels: Historic Boston, MA

There is so much to be said about Boston, Massachusetts. However, what can we say that hasn’t already been implied by our history books in school? So much of our counties history lies within the proverbial walls of this city, and there is so much more to this wonderfully eclectic land that what meets the eyes. However, no matter why one is visiting this town, there is only one thing that is certain, you are going to need to find a hotel to stay in. And, seeing that you are now in a city that is completely unique and historic, you must stay in a hotel that is both unique and historic. Well, since you are in Boston, there is not a shortage of the above. I have reviewed the top three hotels for your enjoyment as well as for your research.

The first hotel in which I reviewed is The Ritz-Carlton, Boston. This hotel faces the Public Garden and is adjacent to Newbury Street boutiques. This absolutely historic hotel was built in 1927 and is only one block from the Boston common as well as only two blocks from the theater district. Now, that we have the historic part down, we now must find the uniqueness. The Ritz-Carlton, Boston features an afternoon tea in The Lounge – love the name, unique, ey? You may drink tea amidst 19th-century art and antique pieces. This 17-story historic hotel is outdone in an original 19th century art, which includes – but is not limited to – glass chandeliers and wood-burning fireplaces, which offers the best of history and high style. You know you are staying at The Ritz, when they have a service menu. And on that menu is a Bath Butler. This individual will literally draw your baths – all of which are custom designed according to your own specific requests. Need to stay in shape? Well, this hotel can offer you this in high-style. It is home to a 3,000-square-foot fitness center. Guests also have access to the Sports Club/LA Boston, a 100,000 square foot spa, fitness, and sports complex – all of this is only two blocks away from the hotel. The hotel offers 273 guestrooms, which are all decorated in French Provincial furnishings, adorned by premium bedding and high-speed Internet access. Included within the marble bathrooms are designer toiletries and complimentary use of plush bathrobes and slippers – to relax after a long day of history hunting.

The second hotel in which I reviewed is the Wyndham Boston. This hotel spans fifteen stories and is a restored Art-Deco landmark, which opened its doors as a hotel in August of 1999. This hotel is located in the heart of Boston’s historic financial distric, and appeals to its business travelers. But don’t be afraid, just because it’s located in the financial district doesn’t mean that its old and dusty – this hotel is quite unique. The reception area, lobby library, and hallways are adorned in vibrantly rich woods and brass, as well as overstuffed chairs and beautiful furnishings. Some of the great amenities guests can enjoy include 24-hour access to the fitness room, as well as the a 10,000 square foot meeting space – adorned with a full-service business center with copier, fax machine, computers, printers, overnight mail services, and secretarial assistance. This hotel was first built in 1928 as Boston’s first skyscraper. This 15-story hotel offers 362 guestrooms. In which all accommodations provide high-speed Internet access at a surcharge, complimentary newspapers, cable TV with pay movies, and all of the bathrooms features Golden Door bath amenities.

And the last hotel in which I reviewed is the Nine Zero – A Kimpton Hotel. This trendy hotel rests right on the Freedom Trail in which overlooks the Old Granary Burying Ground and is one block from the Boston Common, the 18th-century King’s Chapel, and the Park Street T station. The dÃ?©cor this hotel is outfitted with is nonetheless “chic” and contemporary. Guests can watch the passing crowds on Tremont Street from the comfort of the small, smartly designed lobby lounge. The Nine Zero hotel is primarily attractive to the young business crowd whom are seeking very contemporary accommodations, which are close to the office towers of downtown. Some of the highlights this hotel has to offer its guests are 24-hour room service and complimentary wireless Internet access, which can be found throughout the hotel. This 19-story hotel is home to 190 guestrooms, all of which are extremely stylish and contemporary. This hotel is anything but stuffy – an excellent change from the historic Boston museums.
