Miscellaneous Dances taught at SSQQ are Freestyle, Zydeco, Night Club Twostep, Two Left Feet, Lounge Dancing as well as Slow Dance and Romance.
Crash course dances are Beginning Twostep, Country Western Line Dances, Slow Dancing, Shaggie Jitterbug, Night Club Threestep, Triple Two (aka Dallas Twostep), Swing Circle, Beginning Lindy Hop, Dirty Dancing. Other Crash course dances are Swing Line Dances, Western Cha Cha, Sock Hop Line Dances, Zydeco/ Cajun Dancing, Quickstep, Swing Street Hip Hop, Argentine Tango, Advanced Western Waltz, Foxtrot, Sweethearts of the Rodeo, Swirley Twirley, Acrobatics, Salsa Rueda, Latin Hustle, Zoot Suit Riot, Bolero, Synchronized Polka, Halloween Line Dances, Viennese Waltz, Salsa Rueda and Beginning Tap.
Swing Classes offered here include Swing, Swing Acrobatics, Zoot Suit Riot, Shaggie Jitterbug, Lindy Hop, Lounge Dancing and Shim Sham.
Western Classes include Two Step/Polka, Ghost Town, Western Waltz, Night Club Twostep, Western Swing, Death Valley, Western Cha Cha and Western Line Dances.
Whip and West Coast Swing includes Whip, Martian Whip, West Coast Swing, Whip Superclass.
Latin Classes include Salsa Mambo, Salsa Merengue, Latin Cha Cha, Cumbia, Tejano, Samba, Rumba, Bolero, Salsa Rueda and Beginning Latin: Some Like it Hot.
Ballroom Classes include Tango, Argentine Tango, Foxtrot and Boxfox, Waltz, Beginning Ballroom, Dancing in the Moonlight, Lounge Dancing, Slow Dance and Romance as well as Swing.
Most lessons taught in a group setting are 2 hours long, once a week and cost $46 for men and $38 for women, although several other classes are cheaper. Men pay more as they usually need more instruction due to them learning to lead the women. Cheaper classes are more advanced classes and include WCS Technical as well as Ghost Town Level 2, 6 and 10, which are $36 for men and $2 for women. Martian Whip II is also cheaper at $27 for men and $20 for women. Beginner Hip Hop is also different with both men and women being $38, and Intermediate Hip Hop that is $20 for men and women.
Private lessons are available for $50 per hour for up to 4 people. Private lessons are encouraged when the student is either a slow or fast learner and the group setting isn’t working, when the student has a special event coming up such as a wedding or reunion. Other excellent reasons for private lessons include a time restraint, as when the student is in a hurry, such as taking a cruise in the near future or has a dance exhibit or competition in the future.
SSQQ has some pretty forward rules for its students. No children are allowed, except high school age children who are enrolled in dance classes. In group classes, switching partners is required. There is also no guests welcome, no rudeness, no same sex dancing and no smoking. Even with all these rules, this sounds like an excellent place to go to learn how to get rid of your two left feet.
