Gift of Words Sonnet to a Deserving Boyfriend

Apprehensive is my delicate heart,
For far too many times it’s been deceived.
But you captivated me from the start,
And left me with no choice but to believe.

Though this world’s uninviting and cold,
I have found shelter and security.
In your arms is where I want to grow old,
And lay for the rest of eternity.

My love, you are the very confession,
That lingers upon my lips with fear.
For I’d give up all worldly possessions,
If those three words you’d whisper in my ear.

Though I’ve tried to deny my very fate,
I can no longer. You are my soul mate.
