Many people in the Rocklin/Roseville area of Placer County decorate for Halloween and do some really spectacular things with their unlimited creativity. But there is one person that stands alone with his skills for this holiday of horror. John Razee, along time resident and dear friend, puts on a masterful display of frightening proportion. People come from miles around to see his spooky spectacle.

His beautiful lawn is turned into a grave yard with hellacious hauntings around every tree, corner and many coming straight out of the ground. His garage is turned into a mad scientist’s lair with flowing blood from a headless victim and squirming rats caught in deadly traps that are bigger than Chihuahuas.

The smoke machines catch you off guard as the unsuspecting trick-or-treater approaches. Usually the kids and their parents are so busy being freaked out by the fully animated Halloween fright fest and looking at all the animatronics set up combined with the surround sound playing eerie music and sound bytes to notice that there is a maniac waiting around every turn.

The City of Rocklin puts on an annual Festival for everyone to attend. At the Sunset Whitney Center an enormous and frighteningly fun event takes place. The fire department along with other branches of this city body put together a safe alternative to the traditional trick or treat dangers that kids face on this holiday.

As you enter the huge building the games, live music, and clowns are the first on the list to welcome you in� then it is the hall of horrors as you and your children trick or treat at every door along the way. You will be greeted by High school kids that are volunteering for credits in community service to prepare for college. They are each dressed in scary attire and await you little ghoul or goblin with candy and toys ready to share.

After the fun of the treating fest it’s off to the craft zone where you can enjoy refreshments as your child partakes in Halloween crafts. When you are finally through, you can walk out the last door and into the grassy yard area that is filled with hay and scarecrows and of course the crowning gloryâÂ?¦. Inflatable night slides that are terrifying high. Cops and fire fighters are there to help with all safety issues so that you don’t have to worryâÂ?¦. Although, sometimes it isn’t much of a comfort to a handful of kids that become petrified with the frights of heights.

It is really nice to know, as a parent, that there are safe activities for our children. There are entirely way too many unstable people in this world making this holiday, especially, a dangerous one.
