Hotel Guide: Ithaca, New York

So you have found yourself in Ithaca, New York? Well, there are many reasons why you might be here, for one, this city rests on the southern shore of Cayuga Lake, however the main reason why visitors come to this wonderful city is because of its colleges. Ithaca is home to two main colleges, Cornell University and Ithaca College. This city knows that it has many visitors coming and going, most of them of the college-mindset, thus it has set for itself some really great hotels. The first hotel in which I reviewed is the Statler Hotel At Cornell University. This three-and-a-half-star hotel is centrally located within the Cornell campus. The Statler Hotel is a completely non-smoking hotel, all guestrooms and public spaces are free from any type of tobacco. This hotel offers 153 guestrooms and suites, all of which come with two-line telephones, high-speed Internet service, voicemail, and a necessity for all college students – Wolfgang Puck coffee with in-room coffeemakers.

The second hotel in which I reviewed is the La Tourelle Resort & Spa. This sold three-star-hotel rests on seventy acres of sprawling hills in upstate New York wine country, and is only three miles south of Ithaca. What makes this hotel special, is that when you arrive, you feel as if you are in a completely different country, one that is far more gentile and less-complicated, however, you are only three miles from the hustle and bustle of college life. This hotel is outdone in a true European-style inn, with the lobby having an open-hearth fireplace, as well as complimentary coffee and tea. Some of the amenities this hotel offers its guests includes complimentary shuttle transportation to the airport, starting early in the morning and running through late evening. The shuttle also can transport individuals to Ithaca College and to Cornell University from early morning to mid-afternoon. Seeing that this hotel is also a spa, they offer body treatments and massages for a small surcharge. The La Tourelle Resort & Spa has 54 nonsmoking guestrooms in its three-story fa�§ade. And, finally, the last hotel in which I reviewed is Clarion Hotel University Hotel and Conference Center. This two-and-a-half-star hotel is located only minutes away from Cornell University as well as Ithaca College, thus making it a very popular destination with college students and their families. However, this hotel’s location is far more than just being close to the local universities, it also rests just one mile from the airport and corporate park, as well as being extremely close to all major attractions, wineries, state parks, and museums. Some of the various amenities this hotel offers its guests includes a fitness center completely outfitted with proper equipment, business services, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and an indoor swimming pool. The Clarion Hotel consists of 106 guestrooms in its three-story building.
