San Diego can be an expensive place to live but have no worries; if you look in the right spots you can find a nice place that won’t burn a hole in your pocket and income. The first thing you should keep in mind before you go looking for an apartment is that you don’t have to rush into things. Always compare prices and take a look at several apartments before you choose just one.

In San Diego there are many resources that are available when searching for cheap apartments.

One online source that is very helpful is Craigslist. Craigslist is like a big online classified website that offers a section for apartments up for rent. On Craigslist when searching for an apartment you can put in the minimum and maximum price you want to rent for. You can also put if you want a studio, one bedroom, two bedroom, and etc. It also gives you a choice on how many bathrooms you would like, and an option for pets as well. With Craigslist search options it helps narrows down certain apartments. You can also put in a key word when you search as well. You may want to put what neighborhood you prefer living in or other specific things. After you click the search box it will give you the narrow down choices and from there you can pick the ones you would like to call. Remember there is no rush so pick the ones you are interested and then go check them out and talk to the landlords before your final decision.

Another source where you can find cheap apartments in San Diego is the San Diego Reader. The San Diego Reader is a free magazine that you can get at any coffee house, or you can also view the reader online if you prefer as well. The reader has ads for apartment rentals and has detailed descriptions as well. It also usually has the contact information of the landlord and the address where it’s located. Most ads also include the price of the apartment so you can find the more affordable ones

A third choice for searching for cheap apartment rentals in San Diego is going to the Community colleges or SDSU and looking at the bulletin boards. This may take some time but if you are patient there are a lot of ads that are posted on College campuses that have cheap apartments for rent.

A forth choice can be posting your own add stating that you are looking for a cheap apartment to rent. You can use craigslist, or even rent.com to do this. Most people will respond especially if they are looking for new tenants.

A fifth choice is looking in the San Diego Union Tribune Newspaper Classifieds. This is also usually a good place to find cheaper house although you have to search all the ads one by one which always takes a little patience and more time.

What ever way you decide to find cheap rent in San Diego, these are just a few suggestions.
