Spray Urethane Foam and what it can do for you

  • · Walls- This is the most commonly used application for SPF and has been used for over 35 years in the field around the globe. It helps homes and businesses increase their R-value significantly without adding the weight of conventional roofing materials. It helps to decrease noises both inside and outside of the home as well. In some applications, it can even be used to help shore up the structure against racking and wind uplift problems. In industrial and commercial building made from metal, it can be left exposed on the walls without emitting toxic gases or debris unlike conventional insulation.
  • · Roofs- SPF is commonly applied as a roofing material for flat deck roofing systems. It’s sprayed onto existing or new roof decks and raised flat. It is then covered with a protective voting like acrylic, gravel or polyurethane to prevent damages from storm debris, hail and UV damages.
  • · Fire Proofing and Weatherproofing- In existing homes, SPF works great for sealing around leaking doors and windows. It prevents drafts, heat loss and even insect/rodent problems by sealing any gap or crack. In new building applications, it is often used to seal the gaps, cracks and holes that are around wires, plumbing and HVAC penetrations in interior/exterior walls. This also prevents deadly backdrafts that can occur in between walls when a fire occurs.
  • · Refrigeration- This material is also well used in industrial and commercial applications for refrigeration. It coats exterior and interior storage tanks filled with hot or cold liquids to keep the temperature stable much better than any other insulative materials available. It stops sweating and other condensation troubles that often affect cooling liquids.
  • · Adhesive- SPF is even used as an adhesive for other foam-based products. Roofing panels that are made from dense open cell foam can easily be adhered to one another with spray polyurethane foam products. It creates a permanent bond that doubles as an insulation.
