Live Music Concert Venues in Foxboro, MA

Foxboro, MA is best known as playing home to the New England Patriots. Like almost any other town with a stadium, Foxboro also serves as a venue for big rock concerts featuring major acts. There are some smaller venues where fans can catch live music in this town situated between Boston and Providence.

To begin with, though, there’s the stadium. Gillette Stadium (One Patriot Place off Rte 1, 508-543-1776)
isn’t just the home of the NFL’s current reigning dynasty, the New England Patriots, but is also a concert venue for many big name touring acts. With 68,000 plus seats, it can handle the legions of fans. Among those who have performed at Gillette include The Rolling Stones, U2, Madonna and Metallica. The stadium, built by Pats owner Bob Kraft to house his champs, is a beautiful, world-class stadium venue.

The stadium area is populated by many clubs and restaurants which feature live music. The Funway CafÃ?© is an example. Touting itself as an “entertainment complex”, Funway is just down the road from Gillette (2 Washington St, 508-668-2000). Part family restaurant, part function hall, it’s also a venue for live music. Friday nights belong to cover acts or as it says on the website “the best cover bands on the east coast.” There are also several DJ-ed dance nights each week. Except on specially designated nights, you must be over 21 and cough up the $5 cover to get in.

Also right down the street from Gillette is the End Zone Night Club & Sports Bar (10 Washington St, 508-543-0599). The End Zone host local acts in the rock and blues genres. Fridays host karaoke, though, whether that’s exactly live music is open for interpretation. The End Zone hosts private parties and other functions, has a bar equipped with TV for watching the Pats or whomever else and is also connected to a motel for anyone who’s dreamed of sleeping in the shadow of the Patriots.

The Odessa Restaurant (108 Washington St, 508-698-1727)
is also located along Rte 1. Patrons can enjoy Russian and Eastern European cuisine as they listen to live Russian music.

Just about fifteen minutes from Foxboro Center in the next door town of Mansfield, MA is The Tweeter Center (885 South Main St., 508-339-2333). This is the performing arts center formerly known as The Great Woods Center for the Performing Arts. Tweeter sounds so much betterâÂ?¦to the people who own Tweeter. An outdoor venue, the Tweet has a large lawn for and open air covered seating for summer concerts. The Tweeter Center has well-known performers- Jimmy Buffet, James Taylor, Eric Clapton and many rock and radio tours- you know like “Jamming 94.5 Summer Concerts” or that kind of thing. There’s a VIP option for businesses which includes seats to all the summer events.

One note on transportation and location the venue’s website bills it as being in Boston. It’s not in Boston, and if you’re visiting Boston, you’ve got a half hour (or more) drive or a 45 minute train ride to get there – and while there’s a train depot in Mansfield, you’ll still need a cab to get to the actual venue.
