Souls of Aborted Babies; What Does Heaven Hold for Them

Much discussion has been held about whether the human unborn fetus is alive and a person with a soul. Many would say that the ability of the fetus to feel pain is proof of the fact that it is a living being. But what is the difference between being alive and having a soul?

This question is very difficult to answer. After all, if the fetus does indeed have a soul then abortion is not just a medical process that kills and removes the forming material from the woman’s body, but an unborn human that is being tortured and murdered for the benefit of those already born.

I. What does science prove about living forms?

Plants respond to music, human contact and environmental conditions. The response is very much like any other living thing. If the stimulant is of a caring, pleasant nature, then the plant will respond in a pleasant manner. If however the stimulant is of a negative nature, then the plant will respond in a negative manner, even to the point of death.

Science has not proven whether plants feel pain or not. It is a common debate among vegetarians and carnivores, although people in everyday society doesn’t give it much thought. Science decrees that plants do not feel pain since there is no central nervous system. People that try to argue for plant pain, are inevitably ridiculed by those that cite science or the ‘I’ve never heard a plant scream’ reasoning.

Any living species has the ability and the determination to procreate. This statement does not need science to validate it. Common sense does this. Without this ability there would not be a need for hunters and farmers, since humans would have died out and this topic would be null and void.

Does plants also have the ability to choose when they reproduce, even when environmental conditions are accommodating? It would seem there is a possibility, although this in no way implies the individual plant choosing its fate.

A process called Masting occurs every few years in which plants produce small amounts of seeds and nuts. At this time, many animals that depend on the plant’s fall abundance to survive the winter starve to death. The following year, the same plants that delayed their reproduction provides an over-abundance of seeds and nuts. With the demand from animals for food being smaller, the chances of the species surviving through another generation is greatly increased.

Incidentally, animals also has the ability to choose over the fate of their offspring. Elephants for example can retain the male fertilization for up to two years. At the end of this time, the pregnancy can go forth if the environment is capable of sustaining the new life. If not, the pregnancy can be ended naturally. Another restrictive reproduction method calls for the mother to kill her young, either on an individual basis or as a litter group, depending on the circumstances.

II. What does the Bible say? (King James Version)

Ecclesiastes 3:1-2: To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

The Bible does not say conceived instead of born. It boldly states ‘A time to be born, and a time to die;’.

Genesis 2: 6-7: But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground. And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

A soul is not living, physically. The body lives. The body dies. But before this, a soul had never lived or died, physically. Only when the breath of God (the soul) enters into the body, has that soul lived.

So if the baby body is destroyed before the soul has been breathed into it by the physical body, the soul has not been killed.

A physical body dies, lives, procreates, relies on survival instincts, is almost bound by the wants and desires. It does not require a soul to live (sorry, pets excludedJ) up to these actions.

A soul is very opposite. Before a soul enters a physical body, it is energy, pure Jehovah ‘magic’, so to speak.. Jehovah has never lived in a physical body himself. (Remember, that’s why Jesus had to live as a man in order for God to give salvation to man) It has not been dirtied by the animal tendencies.

I think a soul must be a very beautiful part of God. I know the soul is breathed in. Is it always in the first breath a baby takes, or does it bide its time for a few minutes, hours or days before entering into a physical being? I don’t know.

III. So What happens to the soul?

So where does the soul go when a body is destroyed? If the child’s body is destroyed before it is born, a soul has not been destroyed, merely relocated to the next passageway. The soul is very literally in the hands of God before it is breathed into the body. So why wouldn’t the soul still be in the hands of God?
