The Best Restaurants and Shops in Waldorf, Maryland

Sears, Kohl’s, J.C. Penny, Hecht’s, Hecht’s Home Store and Dick’s Sporting goods headline the variety of stores offered at St. Charles Town Center mall, located at 11110 Mall Circle off of Route 301, in Waldorf Maryland. You will also find 130 specialty stores as well at St. Charles Town Center mall.

I visited four stores on a shopping trip to St. Charles Town Center mall. They were: Torrid, Border’s Express, Afterthoughts and the Disney Store.

Torrid is a clothes store that offers cutting edge fashions for sizes 12 to 28. Prices range from $25 to $100. Everything from purple crushed velvet tops to novelty t-shirts and washed jeans. Also Torrid offers accessories, such as jewelry, belts, wallets, sunglasses, watches, wristbands and shoes. Among the accessories, I spotted a Hello Kitty wallet for $14.00.

Afterthoughts offers fashion conscious costume jewelry store. Some of the materials used to make the earrings are: shells, wood and sequins. I bought a pair of Tiger Eye, a semi-precious stone .earrings for $4.49 at Afterthoughts. Other merchandise presented are: necklaces, bracelets, rings, handbags, belts, hats and feather boas. The prices are $5 to $20.

Border’s Express is your one stop store to find the right book that makes the perfect gift.

Prices range from $5 to $50. Categories range from fiction, nonfiction, art and romance. Also an assortment of magazines and calendars are available as well. Don’t forget to visit the discounted book section.

The Disney store makes wishes come true. All your Disney friends are there: Minnie, Mickey, Donald Duck and Goofy. You will see new ones, such as the characters from the “Corpse Bride”, “Toy Story” and “The Incredibles”. This store offers clothes, toys, holiday merchandise, and collectibles. Prices range from $19.99 to $100.00.

The restaurants that give you a big bang for your buck in Waldorf are Topolino and Country Buffet.

Located at 2901 Festival Way, off of route 301 in Waldorf, MD, Topolino offers Italian Food at an affordable price. Dinner dishes start at $7.95 and End at $16.95. Customers can select their own pasta, Spaghetti, Linguine, Angel Hair or Rigatoni. I would recommend the Fettuccini Alfredo, consisting of home-produced egg noodles accompanied with cream, butter and parmesan cheese sauce. I have tasted this dish myself with Angel Hair pasta. It is scrumptious and costs $9.75.

Old Country Buffet at 2916 Festival Way in Waldorf, off of route 301, provides an all you can eat buffet. Dinner is $10.39 and Lunch is $7.66. Lunch is served at 10:30 to 3:30. After 3:30, Dinner prices are in effect. The price includes the salad bar, hot and cold beverages, assorted burgers tacos, chicken, vegetables, rolls, fish, roast beef and ham. A selection of desserts is offered as well.

So if you are visiting Waldorf, the places to shop and eat are: St. Charles Town Center mall, Topolino and Old Country Buffet.
