Unique Household Uses for Milk

I have heard of so many great things that milk is good for, but when my brother in law came over he shared some really creative tips for using your milk. I was so amazed by the things he told me who would of thought of these? Not me that’s for sure I never knew milk had that many great uses. So here are the great uses for milk:

1. You can take your good old corn on the cob place it with a 1/2 cup of milk into your pot of boiling water. He said this will make your corn taste much sweeter and melt in your mouth. When you are eating this corn it won’t stick to your teeth as bad either, because of the changed texture of it from the milk.

2. Apply some really cold milk onto a dried area of skin on your body. Use a wash cloth dip it into the milk. Make sure that area is on the saturated side. Then wait about ten minutes or so allowing it to absorb in your skin. Then rinse off with warm water. Do this a few times a day. He has done this method to his daughter and recommends at least twice a day.

3. If you have a pair of leather shoes that are in need of a good shine place some milk on a soft cloth allow it to fully dry. Once it is fully dry then buff them up. Your shoes will shine like gold.

4. He had a set of china plates to fix that was his mothers. They had a really big crack in the side of the plate. Well he took the plates placed them into a big pot boiled them with about 1 cup of milk. He told me that by boiling the milk with the plates it will close up the crack. The materials that are in the plate will react with the milk to cause it to close up the crack.
