Use your patio to grow plants. For this, you can use any sort of containers, such as oak barrels, plastic tubs, pots, metal drums and wooden boxes.
Hanging baskets, trellises and railings is another great thing to do. This will enable you to produce tomatoes and beans.
Involve your entire family, especially kids no matter they can reach the containers or not. If you don’t have a large terrace, a windowsill garden is the best option.
Once the containers are placed at appropriate places, it is the time to take care of them. Water all your plants frequently. Sometimes, over-watering becomes an issue, so always understand the requirements of your plants.
In case you don’t have meter, use your fingers to find out whether the soil is moist or not. If there is already water inside the soil, delay your watering.
Fertilize your plants in order to get the best results. In the meantime, you should slow down water evaporation. There are a variety of fertilizers available in the market.
But remember, every chemical cannot be used. Choosing the appropriate fertilizer depends on the nature of plant you are growing.
Nourish your crops frequently. It is always better to take out some time everyday to spend with the plants. Sometimes, people make an exciting beginning, but gradually start ignoring the plants. As a result, the entire effort goes to waste.
