How to Make and Can Green Tomato Mince Meat

Ingredients:
Beef suet: 1/2 pound
Green tomatoes, minced- 8 quarts minced, cored apples: 8 quarts
Brown sugar: 6 pounds
Candied mixed citrus peel (optional): 32 ounces
Orange, peeled, sectioned, and cut into bite-size: 7 large
Lemons, finely chopped: 2
Ground allspice: 2 tablespoons
Raisins: 2 pounds
Distilled white vinegar: 1 cup
Salt: 2 tablespoons
Ground cinnamon: 2 tablespoons
Ground cloves: 2 tablespoons

    First of all, you have to take a large stock pot. Put green tomatoes, suet or oil, apples, vinegar, chopped lemons, raisins, brown sugar, chopped oranges and candied peel in the pot and mix everything well.

    Now, add cinnamon, allspice, cloves and salt (as per your taste) in the mixture. Cover the pot well and cook the ingredients at low heat for around three hours.

    Then, you have to sterilise 30 canning jars (1 for each pint) and their lids. Ladle filling in the jars which you just sterilised. Keep in mind that you have to leave around half inch space before covering the jars with the lids.

    Take a canner and fill it with water. Heat the water and then lower the jars gradually into the canner after placing them in the rack. It is very important for you to make sure that the water fully covers all the jars. Furthermore, make sure that the water not boiling (but it should be hot). Then, boil the water and keep the jars in it for around 10 minutes.
